Guest Lecture: “Recent Trends in Quantum Computing & Cyber Security using AI Tools”

The Department of Information Technology and Cyber Security, Arifa Institute of Technology, organized a Guest Lecture on “Recent Trends in Quantum Computing & Cyber Security using AI Tools” on 19th August 2026 at 10.00 a.m. in the seminar hall, Block–1, Arifa Institute of Technology.
The programme commenced with the Invocation, creating a pleasant and inspiring atmosphere. Mrs.K.Kanaga, Assistant Professor, Department of IT & CS, delivered the Welcome Address, warmly welcoming the Chief Guest, faculty members, and students. She emphasized the importance of understanding both the opportunities and ethical responsibilities associated with Recent Trends in Quantum Computing.
The Special Address was delivered by Mrs. R. Rathika, Head of the Department of Information Technology and Cyber Security. In her address, she highlighted basics of Quantum Computing, qubits, superposition, entanglement, recent developments and future applications. It also explained the impact of Quantum Computing on Cyber Security, challenges to encryption methods, Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), and how AI tools can be used for threat detection, malware and phishing detection, anomaly detection, and network security, along with the future scope of combining AI, Quantum Computing, and Cyber Security Introduction of the Chief Guest
Mrs. R. Rathika, Head of the Department of Information Technology and Cyber Security, introduced the Chief Guest, Prof. S. RAMPRAKASH, Guest Professor , Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University College of Engineering, Thirukkuvalai .She appreciated him academic achievements, research contributions, and expertise in Quantum Computing.
Chief Guest Address
The Chief Guest, Prof. S. Ramprakash, latest trends in Quantum Computing and Cyber Security, focusing on the role of AI tools in detecting cyber threats, protecting data, and improving security systems. It also provided insights into the future applications and challenges of AI-driven and quantum-based technologies.
Interactive Session
The interactive session provided students with an opportunity to ask questions, clarify their doubts, and discuss real-world applications of AI, Quantum Computing, and Cyber Security. Students actively participated and gained a better understanding of the latest technologies and their practical uses.
