The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (AI&DS), Arifa Institute of Technology, organized a Guest Lecture on “Generative AI with Ethical Dilemmas” on 05th August 2026 at 10.00 a.m. in the AI&DS Lab, Block–2, Arifa Institute of Technology.
The programme commenced with the Invocation, creating a pleasant and inspiring atmosphere. Mrs. T.K. Sathya, Assistant Professor,Department of AI&DS,delivered the Welcome Address,warmly welcoming the Chief Guest, faculty members, and students. She emphasized the importance of understanding both the opportunities and ethical responsibilities associated with Generative Artificial Intelligence.
The Special Address was delivered by Mr. R. Jaya Kumar, Head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. In his address, he highlighted the rapid advancement of Generative AI and its transformative impact on education, healthcare, software development, business, and research. He encouraged students to embrace AI technologies responsibly while maintaining ethical values.
Introduction of the Chief Guest
Mr. R. Jaya Kumar, Head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, introduced the Chief Guest, Dr. T. Mahesh Selvi, Assistant Professor (SI.Gr), Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University College of Engineering, Thirukkuvalai .He appreciated her academic achievements, research contributions, and expertise in Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies.
Chief Guest Address
The Chief Guest, Dr. T. Mahesh Selvi, delivered an informative and inspiring session on “Generative AI with Ethical Dilemmas.” She explained the fundamentals of Generative AI, its applications in education, healthcare, software development, content creation, and research. She also discussed important ethical issues such as AI bias, data privacy, misinformation, copyright, transparency, and responsible AI usage.
