Alumni Interaction Session – ECE Department

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering successfully conducted an Alumni Interaction Session on 29.07.2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM in virtual mode. The session was organized with the objective of providing students with valuable industry exposure and career guidance from a successful alumnus.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Mr. G. Sundar, Head of the Department, Electronics and Communication Engineering. He cordially welcomed the distinguished alumnus, faculty members and students who participated in the session. In his address, he encouraged the students to actively participate in the discussion, make the best use of the opportunity and gain practical knowledge from the experiences shared by the alumnus.

The department was honoured to welcome its distinguished alumnus, Mr. K. Kalaiyarasan (ECE Batch 2015–2019)Project Lead, Zoho Corporation Pvt. Ltd., Chennai, who delivered an insightful and inspiring technical interaction. The session was highly interactive, with students actively participating in the discussion and raising several thought-provoking questions on the following topics:
• Career opportunities in IT and Core Engineering.
• The impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on future careers.
• Whether the recent IT layoffs will affect job opportunities for fresh graduates.
• The skills and certifications required to remain competitive in the industry.
• Placement preparation, continuous learning and career growth.

Mr. Kalaiyarasan addressed each of the student’s queries with practical examples and industry-oriented insights. The session proved to be highly informative and motivational. The students expressed their appreciation for the practical knowledge and career guidance provided by the speaker. The interaction helped them gain a better understanding of current industry trends, placement expectations and the importance of continuous skill development.

The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Mrs. R. Akila, Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering. She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the management, the Principal, Head of the Department, the faculty members and all the students for their enthusiastic participation. She conveyed special thanks to Mr. K. Kalaiyarasan for taking time out of his busy schedule to interact with the students and for sharing his valuable industry knowledge, experiences and career guidance.
